The Information Services NTO News Updates:

Now that the ILS NVQs at Level 2 and 3 are becoming re-established under our new Awarding Body, City & Guild, we can turn our attention to restoring Level 4. We believe there is a strong potential demand for this, reflected occasionally in the professional press.
 
We have consulted City & Guilds and find they would be prepared to take it on provided:
• We provide a strong rationale for doing so
• We show a reasonable potential take-up over the next 3 years.
 
The first of these we can do with relative ease. For the second, however, we are entirely in your hands. We have asked you for data on this before and only got a half-hearted response.  This time we mean it. If colleagues can’t show us, NOW, that they want to take up Level 4 and the sort of candidate numbers they anticipate over the next 3 years – then restoration of Level 4 just won’t happen.
